Learning about Playing Roles from the Experts: Kids!
This week Haeny and Nathan get schooled. Specifically they visit the first grade classroom of first-grade teacher and education scholar Carmen Llerena and talk to some kids! They learn how to play pirates, all about Rainbow Friends, and how to navigate conflict through pretend play. They talk about how kids use available materials to play in unexpected ways, the role of adults when it comes to shaping spaces where kids play, and learn about how easily imaginary worlds emerge from a pile of blocks.
Fact check: We know that while Haeny says “America Ferrera aka Barbie” in this episode, Barbie was actually played by Margot Robbie in the movie and America Ferrera played a human character. No need to email, message, or DM us this correction.

This was an excellent interview. Super insightful for the general career journey, even outside of educational policy.
I would recommend recognizing the om but do not connect to the om of all rather to develop your own authentic om to continue to have respect to the higher consciousness for your benefit to grow and others to have that same benefit to learn their own authentic om
I was here on March 21, 2024. I was lucky enough to have Professor Greene mentioned in a lecture by Professor Kashani -- otherwise I would not know of her existence!

Raphael was a major influence in my life. Changed the way I looked at art and the world, frankly, as an art student at Rutgers about a quarter of a century ago. Much appreciation
I am grateful to hear about the life and contribution of Larry Cremin.

I know this woman from all my years back in LA. We have so many memories from this lifetime!! We used to debate a lot of different issues whenever I was staying at their house for the weekend. Me and her mom, Dana, hit it off the first day we met, like a long lost friend back in ‘09 and quickly I got to know their whole family. Last time I was around both we were at Dana’s birthday party here in the A last year but still nothing but love for both.

Why are the New Haven schools worse than ever? Why did your staff send their own children to private schools.
I started implementing Sonday instruction this year. I pretty much only do some of the Lucy read alouds now. Even 7 years ago I could never bring myself to follow the "perfect world and classroom" scripts where she discounted the fact that kids needed the foundational skills even in 3rd.
I was a Victim.. Read anything after 1968.. Yourself as Well..
I'm sure she and her cronies made Lots of Money, including the politicians.
O yeah she became a multi-millionaire. The publishers for the new curriculum got a billion dollar deal.
@McGillus What a beautiful con game, she conned very smart teachers, and the one's that saw the nonsense were ostracized and perhaps shone the door.
Fraud Poor children, they pay for the Nonsense
